Management Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a central role in driving monthly reporting, variance analysis, and internal department business partnering. Work as part of a lean and supportive team, you’ll also maintain a hands-on approach across core financial operations.
This is a full-time, hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days office based per week. Our office is located in Bourne End (Buckinghamshire, SL8 5YS).
Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely monthly management accounts for Virgin Experience Days (UK).
Own and manage the P&L overhead cost schedules, conducting detailed variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast) and investigating discrepancies.
Prepare and review comprehensive month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
Support financial operations, including reporting, provisions, cashflow control, and stock control.
Prepare quarterly royalty returns for review and submission.
Active participation in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Support with the year-end audit process.
Business partner with internal department heads to provide ad-hoc financial reporting, commercial analysis, and decision-support insights.
Support the wider Finance team with ad hoc reporting, analysis and project work.
Process supplier invoices in line with company’s 30-day payment terms.
Prepare and process weekly payment runs for Virgin Experience Days (UK).
Monitor and respond to supplier queries, escalating issues where appropriate.
Qualified or Studying towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.
Proven track record in a similar finance role, with practical experience in core month-end duties and variance reporting.
Proven hands-on experience in month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prior experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable).
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proven track record of meeting strict month-end deadlines.
The ability to work collaboratively within a small, supportive team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
