We're looking for a Front End Architect to join our Tech team.

As a Front End Architect with experience in Ecommerce, AWS, Typescript and NextJS, we need you to take a vital role in both greenfield and existing projects to continue the growth of our highly successful £100m+ business.


You’ll have been in similar roles before, delivering high-level front end solution architecture, and are still very much hands on, with a passion for coding excellence. Your extensive experience allows you to design and implement scalable, robust, and innovative composable solutions while actively contributing to our codebase.

We need you to help us:
  • Architect and Guide Projects: 
    Strategically design and architect projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Innovate and Optimise:
    Continuously enhance our software solutions, with Event Driven Architecture design meshing with legacy systems to maintain our position at the forefront of technology and user experience.

  • Team Leadership:
    Be a north star for our developers, fostering a culture of excellence, confidence and collaborative growth with robust and careful software architecture.

  • Technical Excellence:
    Maintain high standards in software development, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable solutions.

  • Strategic Contribution:
    Actively contribute to the strategic planning of technology solutions, aligning with business goals and objectives.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable website applications using Typescript and frameworks including NextJS and React.

  • Build well-architected infrastructure and applications in AWS, Vercel and other SAAS solutions, being a leader in our cloud-based event-driven projects.

  • Lead and mentor developers.

  • Work effectively in our agile team, contributing to all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

  • Be a key member of our Technical Design Forum to present and assess technical proposals.

  • Ensure software quality, including through code reviews, comprehensive code coverage and clear technical design documentation.

What you'll need:
  • Technical Expertise:
    You need to have: 

    • TypeScript, 

    • NextJS, 

    • React, 

    • Node,

    • Event Driven Architecture,

    • Extensive AWS experience,

    • MACH experience. 

  • Great-to-have: 

    • Tailwind, 

    • Component-based libs/frameworks (Vue/Svelte/Angular),

    • Vercel/Netlify experience,

    • Nuxt/Remix,

    • Microservices,

    • RESTful APIs and SAAS integrations. 

  • Experience:
    You’ve previously worked as a Front End Architect, in an Ecommerce setting.

  • Leadership Skills: 
    Experience in leading and mentoring teams.

  • Problem-Solving: 
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Agile Methodology: 
    Familiarity with Agile practices and SCM tools like Git.

  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Adaptability:
    Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent work experience.
